What are you hiding from? Part 3

So how do get out of hiding?  We get out of hiding by admitting where we are and being honest with God, ourselves and others.  This is not an easy step, in fact it requires quite a bit of courage and self awareness.  God designed you for a purpose, He created and molded you, and He is not finished with you yet.  You, however, must allow Him to finish His work.  For as long as you remain in hiding, He cannot complete the work which He began in you.

Why would we want to get out of hiding?  We want to get out of hiding so that we can restore our relationship with God and live the purposeful life we were designed to live.  King Solomon in his wisdom writes in Proverbs 28:13 that “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.”  We will not prosper as long as we are hiding from our sins rather, by revealing our sins we can receive God’s gift of mercy.

So where do we begin.  We begin where God began.  Genesis 3:9, “Then the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”’  Our all powerful, omnipotent God knew that Adam and Eve sinned and He knew they were hiding but He did not confront the sin first, instead He asked “Where are you?”

God met them in their place of hiding and that is where we will meet.  Let’s begin a journey of discovering our many hiding places and what we are really hiding from.  Then we can confront the sin in our lives and restore our relationship with our Heavenly Father.  1John 1:8-9, “If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.  But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”
